Apostille coordination for official translations in Colombia

If your procedure requires an apostilled translation, we coordinate the apostille or legalization before Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs when it is included in your quote. First we confirm which document must be authenticated and for which country.

  • Your quote in minutes, any time of day
  • Signed and sealed by an official translator
  • Notarial acknowledgment of the translator's signature
  • Apostille or legalization, when included in your quote

What we confirm before quoting

Issuing and destination country

The route changes according to where the document was issued and where it will be used.

Source document

If the institution also requires the source document to be apostilled, that is handled separately.

Translation

Whether the translation needs notarial acknowledgment, an apostille, or legalization.

Institution instructions

The receiving institution's instructions control over any general list.

Is your document not on the list? Upload it to the quote tool anyway, or ask us. Instant quote

Frequently asked questions

What does an apostille authenticate?

An apostille authenticates the signature and the capacity in which the signer acted; it does not certify the document's content.

Apostille or legalization?

Hague Convention destinations generally use an apostille. Other destinations may require legalization through Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed by consular steps.

Do both the source document and the translation need an apostille?

It depends on the receiving institution. Sometimes both are required and sometimes only one; confirm with them and tell us when you request your quote.

Are consular steps included?

No, unless they appear expressly in your written quote.

How long does it take?

It depends on how many documents you have and on the apostille. The delivery date appears in your quote.

Semántico provides translation services, not immigration or legal advice. Notarial signature acknowledgment is Semántico's internal operating standard, not a universal legal requirement.
